Resource Development and Referral Specialist

Full time position at DeKalb Office in the Child Care Resource and Referral Program

Job Responsibilities: Provide child care referrals and consumer education to families needing child care. Develop the supply of quality child care options by: recruiting new child care providers;  providing technical assistance to individuals opening and operating a child care business; conducting outreach visits to child care providers with an emphasis on child care providers serving low income families; and presenting trainings on child care related topics.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education OR a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas with a minimum of 18 hours in early childhood coursework- Child Psychology,/Behavioral  Sciences,  Family Consumer Sciences, Social Work, Family Services, Psychology, Sociology, Human Development.

Experience Preferred:
Experience working in a child care setting as a family child care provider, center based administrator, or center based teacher or teacher assistant.

This position requires occasional evening and weekend work and a current, valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Full time Bi-lingual Parenting Consultant

Job Responsibilities: Provide consultations with parents regarding child development, guidance and other parenting topics. Facilitate workshops and one-on-one instruction for parents of young children. Some evening work required. Candidates should be fluent in Spanish and English and have experience in working with diverse communities. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others and partner with families to foster meaningful, working relationships in support of the parent-child relationship.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Social Work, Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.

Full time Quality Specialist

Job Responsibilities: Provide consultation, technical assistance and training to center and home based child care programs pursuing or maintaining an ExceleRate® Illinois Circle of Quality. Complete verification visits for the Silver Circle of Quality. Market and promote participation in ExceleRate IL.
This position requires some evening and weekend work and a current, valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education OR a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas with a minimum of 18 hours in early childhood coursework- Child Psychology,/Behavioral  Sciences,  Family Consumer Sciences, Social Work, Family Services, Psychology, Sociology, Human Development, and
Minimum 2 years paid experience working in a child care setting as a family child care provider, center based administrator, center based teacher or teacher assistant, or Illinois “Preschool For All” teacher. Requires experience teaching/training adults in the past 3 years.
