LGBTQIA+ 101: Understanding Development and Creating Safety for Kids, Teens, and Tweens
Childcare providers create safe and nurturing environments for their kids. Many of these children may be exploring their gender identity or sexual orientation or may go on to do so. Childcare providers may also be working with a diverse range of parents, guardians, and families. This training will educate providers on the basics of working with LGBTQIA+ kids and families as well as how to create safe and affirming spaces for children, no matter their stage of development. Whether you work with infants or teens, this training provides information and resources to empower providers to help create the safety and support that LGBTQIA+ young people so desperately need.
Audience: All Providers including child care center/preschool staff and directors, family home child care providers, and school age providers
