Positive Guidance: Reframing Children’s Challenging Behaviors to Support Children’s Needs

Explore what respectful care looks like when challenging behaviors occur and how caregiver responses can support or limit children during these fragile moments. Participants will reflect on beliefs and experiences with challenging behaviors to help identify children’s emerging skills and typical development as an opportunity to support social-emotional needs. Participants will also engage in activities to learn how to reframe children’s behaviors into opportunities to teach social and emotional skills, and develop their own skills and understanding of respectfully responding to children.
