Relationships Need Repair Too: Navigating Hard Moments in Family Child Care

November 17 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Family childcare is deeply relational work. Even in strong, positive relationships, there can be moments of misunderstanding, frustration, missed cues, differing expectations, or simple disconnection. Drawing from a relationship-based and Circle of Security-informed lens, this interactive training explores what happens when connection becomes difficult and how providers can respond with greater awareness, curiosity, and intention. Participants will consider what they bring into challenging moments, explore what can get in the way of staying connected, and examine how reflection and repair can strengthen relationships with both children and families. Repair does not require a major conflict or serious rupture. Sometimes it is a moment of reconnecting, clarifying, acknowledging, or trying again.
