The Importance of Play and Make Believe
Research shows that setting our kids up for success in school and beyond with numerous opportunities to “play” throughout their day is the best approach for early learning environments. Teaching children relevant skills through play keeps them motivated to learn. We will explore how to design your setting and routine to fit the needs of any age group that focuses on allowing children to spend their day in a play-based environment that encourages make believe. WE will look at curriculum development to ensure materials and equipment are available to the children that are age appropriate and can be utilize in child-directed learning opportunities. Finding a healthy balance of free play and child-directed learning will ensure the child is receiving a solid foundation in the learning process.
