We Choose Health: Modules 1 & 2 (Childhood Obesity and Nutrition for Young Children)

In this training session, the problem and consequences of childhood obesity in 2–5 year old children will be discussed. The environment and the role of the child care provider in preventing obesity and shaping children’s eating behavior will be described. In addition, providers will explore some ways that can help children develop healthy eating habits and be more active. The Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment for Child Care (NAP SACC) tool will be used to explore specific program improvements that guide child care providers in giving children a healthy start in life.
