SUMMARY:Supporting LGBTQ+ Young People
DESCRIPTION:This training will support an introductory understanding of various gender and sexual identities for young people whose identity development includes connection to LGBTQ+ identities. The training will be both informative and conversational\, and will make room to challenge outdated or problematic understandings of gender and sexuality. The goal is to increase individual capacity for understanding identity in service of being able to better support LGBTQ+ young people in your care. SUMMARY:The New Professional's Quick Start Guide to the CCR&R System
DESCRIPTION:Most new early childhood professionals came to their job because they like children and they want to have an impact with their development. But many of the first steps for a new hire in the field are met with paperwork\, setting up training accounts\, understanding safe systems\, etc. Also\, many managers are stretched so thin that their time for hands-on help with these tasks is limited. This training will assist both the new staff and managers in completing parts of this onboarding process. Participants will learn about Gateways\, the why and how\, and actually walk through the process of setting up and account/learning how to use it to manage professional development requirements. We will look at scholarship assistance through Gateways and ECACE as well as review required trainings and how to self-report then.
