Dear Community Partners,
On behalf of the Board of Directors of 4-C: Community Coordinated Child Care I am writing to announce that Susan Petersen has decided to step down from her position as Executive Director June 30, 2026, to pursue a new opportunity in the non-for-profit sector.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to Susan for her dedication and service over the past fourteen years. Under her leadership, 4-C has significantly increased the geographic footprint for the agency, successfully navigated the pandemic, and relocated the 4-C DeKalb location which removed transportation barriers for families and clients. In addition, we increased our services in the McHenry office to better serve children, families, and providers, and opened a physical site in Ogle County. Susan’s commitment has left the organization in a strong position for the future.
The Board is working closely with Susan to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. We have full confidence in our dedicated staff’s ability to maintain operations without interruption.
The Board has formed a search committee to begin the process of finding the next permanent Executive Director.
